The third and final Test match between England and Pakistan ended in a draw, England wins the series by 1-0

The third Test match between Pakistan and England ended in a draw and England won the series by 0-1. The fifth day of the match in Southampton was delayed due to overnight rain which made the field wet.

When the match resumed after losing almost two seasons, Pakistan captain Azhar Ali could not stay on the wicket for long and became the wicket of James Anderson. At the same time, Anderson took the honor of taking 600 wickets in Test cricket and became the first fast bowler in the world to do so. Then Babar Azam was accompanied by Asad Shafiq and the two formed a 63-run partnership for the fourth wicket in which Asad Shafiq’s share was only 21 runs. Babar Azam took the offensive line and completed his half century but Asad Shafiq scored 21 runs to give the wicket to rival captain Joe Root.

Only 27.1 overs were possible in the day and when it was decided to end the game by mutual consent, Pakistan scored 187 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the second innings, Babar Azam played an unbeaten 63-run innings. England won the series 0-1 due to a draw. Double-century scorer Zac Crowley was named man of the match, while Jose Butler won the man-of-the-series award. Wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan was also declared the best player of the series by Pakistan.

It may be recalled that England declared the innings at 583 for 8 thanks to the excellent partnership and excellent batting of Zack Crowley and Jose Butler. Crawley, who scored his first century, played an innings of 267 runs while Jose Butler stood out with 152 runs. In reply, despite captain Azhar Ali’s unbeaten 141-run innings, the Pakistani team was bowled out for 273. England’s James Anderson was the most prominent bowler with 5 wickets.
