Tendulkar picks one bowler from recent times he would’ve liked to face

Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar has said that he would like to face Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan if he played at recent times.

Tendulkar played against star bowlers like Muttiah Muralitharan, Shane Warne, Glenn McGrath, Wasim Akram and Brett Lee in his time. Though the right-handed batsman was a star cricketer in the Indian cricket team at that time, Virat Kohli is now. Like Tendulkar, Kohli did not play against Warne-Murali, but Kohli has become the best cricketer by playing against the best bowlers of recent times.

Yet many supporters ask, Kohli or Tendulkar – who is the best? Just as Kohli will not be able to play against McGrath, Lee, Murali, Tendulkar will also not be able to play against the current best bowlers like Pat Cummins, Kagiso Rabada, Mitchell Starc. However, in a recent video, he said that if he had played at the present time, he would have played against one bowler.

Not Rabada or Boult, he wanted to play against Afghan spinner Rashid if given the chance. Tendulkar said,

“If I have to face one bowler from this generation, it would be Rashid [Khan]. Almost everyone has talked so much about his bowling and I’ve also enjoyed it. So it will be interesting to face him… because the way he disguises – the googly, leg spin and top spin – he has quite a few variations. It would be fun to actually go out and face him,” Tendulkar said while replying to a question during a Q/A session on his YouTube channel.
