Sri Lankan players to undergo 2 KM Run Fitness Test before first ODI

Sri Lankan players are set to under the ‘2 KM Run Fitness Test’, prior to the ODI series against Bangladesh in Bangladesh.

Sri Lanka are currently residing in Bangladesh to play a three-match ODI series there. The ODI series will commence on May 23rd. All the three ODIs are scheduled to play at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka under strict bio-bubble protocols.

Ahead of the ODI series, the left-handed wicket-keeper batsman Kusal Perera has been appointed as the new skipper for the Sri Lankan Cricket team. Kusal Perera is filling the shoes of the left-handed batsman Dimuth Karunaratne after the latter had a poor run with the bat in the format.

Sri Lanka are looking to have the ODI series on a positive note after winning the Test series against Bangladesh recently. Ahead of the ODI series, Sri Lankan players are expected to take the 2 KM Run Fitness Test, which is a must fitness test for Sri Lankan cricketers nowadays.

Sri Lankan cricketers are about to take the 2 KM Run Fitness Test prior to the first ODI, which is scheduled to play on May 23rd. The players who passed the test will be considered for the playing XI selection in the first ODI. Last time, Sri Lankan cricketers had the major 2 KM Run Fitness Test in Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo, prior to the Caribbean tour.

The fitness test is all about running a 2 km distance within 8 minutes and 35 seconds. According to Sri Lanka Cricket, all the players should pass the test to get themselves on the national side. In case a player gets failed in the test, he will be given a second chance to pass the test within 40 days of time, according to the usual circumstances.
