Shaw accidentally hits Rohit while throwing at stumps

India’s young cricketer Prithvi Shaw got an opportunity to showcase his mettle in the first Test match at Adelaide Oval. However, the 18-year-old failed to make his presence count on the pitch in both the innings as he departed for 0 and 4.

Shaw fell prey to Mitchell Starc’s bowling in the first innings whereas Pat Cummins got his wicket in the second innings. Following his poor performance, he lost his place to Shubman Gill and the latter performed really well in the second and the third Test match.

During the fourth Test match, Shaw returned to the field as a substitute fielder after India’s pacer Navdeep Saini picked up a groin injury during the game. He couldn’t complete his 8th over and was feeling discomfort. He walked off the field to take treatment.

Although he came out to field after a couple of overs, he once again walked off the field after feeling some pain. Prithvi Shaw was called in as a substitute fielder to deliver the goods.

During the overs, Shaw accidentally hit his senior Rohit Sharma while throwing at the stumps. While the Australian batsmen were taking a single during the game, Shaw picked up the ball and aimed at the stumps but little did he know that Rohit was standing across the stumps.

The veteran was caught off-guard for a split second as the ball went on to hit his body. The video of Shaw hitting Rohit has gone viral on social media platforms.

Thankfully, nothing serious had happened to Rohit as he escaped from an injury. Talking about the game, Indian bowlers performed really well on Day 2 of the Brisbane Test. Australia Test captain Tim Paine departed after scoring 50 while his partner Cameron Green departed for 47.

Australia were eventually bowled out for 369. The debutants namely T Natarajan, Washington Sundar and Shardul Thakur took 3 wickets each. India managed to score 62/2 before rain stopped the day’s play. Rohit departed after making 44 while Gill departed for 7.

Nathan Lyon who is just 3 wickets away from taking 400 Test wickets dismissed Rohit whereas Pat Cummins dismissed Gill early on in the game. Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara are batting on 2 and 8 respectively.
