The left-handed opener brought up his second half-century during the second session of day one in the first Test against West Indies.

71 runs have been scored in the session at the loss of two wickets in 29 overs.

After electing to bat first in Chattogram, Bangladesh went to lunch on 69/2. Tamim Iqbal (9) and Najmul Hossain Shanto (25) were the two men to be dismissed in the opening session.

With Shadman at the other end, skipper Mominul Haque put up a 53-run stand for the third wicket. Mominul fell to Jomel Warrican, caught at mid-wicket by John Campbell. He batted 97 balls for his 26.

Shadman bide his time to make a big score but he was given lbw off Warrican while sweeping a full-ish ball. No DRS was taken and it was later showed on screen the ball would have comfortably missed the leg-stump.

The 25-year-old made 59 runs off 154 deliveries, hitting 6 fours.

Senior pros Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan are unbeaten on 9 and 3 runs respectively. Bangladesh go into tea on 140/4 in 58 overs.
