Nathan Coulter-Nile

Nathan Coulter-Nile

After starting as an aggressive fast bowler, Nathan Coulter-Nile can confidently label himself as a more than handy allrounder. Having made his debut for Western Australia in 2009, Coulter-Nile earned his first international cap, a T20 against West Indies, after a stellar 2012-13 season that saw him named WA Player of the Year. His form with the bat for Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash League, including an innings of 23-not-out from just six balls against Brisbane Heat, also earned him a contract with Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League before he was signed by Delhi Daredevils the following year. Coulter-Nile was named in Australia’s squad for the 2013 Champions Trophy and became a semi-regular member of Australia’s limited-overs sides in 2013-14, highlighted by two bags of three wickets against England. He has been plagued by injuries throughout his career, but he has still managed 27 wickets from 21 ODIs and 21 wickets from 17 T20Is for Australia.

Regarded as one of the finest fielders in Australia, Coulter-Nile ironically had one of the bigger blemishes in the field during the 2013-14 Ashes when he flicked a catch into the crowd after momentum carried him over the boundary rope at the Gabba.
