When the Pakistani openers took to the field today, Shaun Masood and Abid Ali started the game with good run rate but careful batting. He scored 10 runs.
In the match played in Southampton yesterday, Pakistan team was a victim of follow-on. The entire team faced 93 overs and scored only 273 runs. Azhar Ali was the successful batsman for Pakistan who faced 272 balls and scored 141 runs with the help of 21 fours and remained unbeaten. Apart from the national captain, no other batsman has done well. However, wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan also showed his mettle and managed to score his half-century. He scored 53 runs with the help of five fours.
England’s James Anderson was a successful bowler. He showed the way to the pavilion to five Pakistani players by giving only 56 runs. Apart from them, Broad took two wickets while Vokes and DM Base took one wicket each. England has a lead of 310 runs over Pakistan. In the second innings, captain Azhar Ali came on the field for the opening, changing Pakistan’s batting order, but the game was called off due to low light.
