Nayeem ruled out of Bangabandhu T20 Cup

After long coronavirus break, cricket has finally returned to Bangladesh with Bangabandhu T20 Cup tournament. But the players are suffering from injury one after another during this tournament. Beximco Dhaka spinner Nayeem Hasan injured his finger a few days ago. Today, it is known that he has been ruled out of the rest of the tournament.

Earlier, Gazi Group Chattogram batsman Mominul Haque injured his finger in the match against Gemcon Khulna at the beginning of Bangabandhu T20 Cup. A few days ago, Fortune Barishal fast bowler Abu Jayed Chowdhury Rahi got injured also. Both ruled out of the tournament.

Dhaka faced Khulna last Thursday (December 10). Nayeem was not in the XI in that match. But he came down to the field as a substitute. While fielding, he injured his finger saving a boundary.

The injury to the little finger of Nayeem’s right hand did not seem serious at first, but after the test there was a crack. It was later learned that Nayeem was no longer playing in the Bangabandhu T20 Cup.

Nayeem’s injury has left him worried ahead of the upcoming West Indies series. However, Dhaka assistant coach Nasiruddin Farooq told BDCricTime that Nayeem’s injury was not too serious. It may take a total of 10 days to recover.

“Nayeem has a light crack on his finger. However, there was no big problem, small problem. But it will take about 10 days to recover. That is why we can’t get him in Bangabandhu T20 Cup tournament anymore,” he said.
