Mahmudul tests negative

The ICC Under-19 World Cup-winning member Mahmudul Hasan Joy has finally been tested negative for COVID-19. Earlier on he was tested positive ahead of the Bangabandhu T20 Cup and the young batsman had been put in quarantine at the National Academy complex.

As he is tested negative for coronavirus now, he will now join the  Gazi Group Chattogram team for the remainder of the Bangabandhu T20 Cup 2020. While speaking to Bdcrictime, the cricketer has confirmed that he is currently staying in the team hotel.

The 20-year old cricketer told Bdcrictime, “Alhamdulillah, I am fine now. I joined the team. There is no problem now. I was tested twice in two days, last Thursday and Saturday,” Joy said.

He got the result of the last test on Saturday night. He added on the same, “Results have been negative in both, by the grace of Allah. I got the result of yesterday’s test last night. Now there is no problem. I also got permission to stay with the team and practice.”

Joy who smashed a century in the U-19 Cricket World Cup semifinal was in the ‘D’ grade during the player auction and was picked by the Chattogram based franchise. The side is led by wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Mithun Ali.
