Welcome to the live coverage of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 auction. 298 players are set to be auctioned in Chennai.

Mushfiqur Rahim, Xavier Bartlett, Saurabh Kumar, Ashok Menaria, D Rohit, KK Jiyas and Mayank Dagar are the seven new names who have been added on the auction list. English fast bowler Mark Wood pulled out of the auction earlier.

Set 1 (batsmen):

The first player to go under the hammer, Karun Nair (base price 50 lakh INR) has gone unsold. Englishmen Alex Hales and Jason Roy also went unsold alongside Evin Lewis, Aaron Finch and Hanuma Vihari.

Aussie batsman Steve Smith was the first player to be sold, at 2.20 crore INR to Delhi Capitals.

Set 2 (all-rounders):

Glenn Maxwell goes to Royal Challengers Bangalore at whopping 14.25 crore INR after a long bidding war. Shakib Al Hasan returns to his old home team Kolkata Knight Riders at 3.2 crore. Chennai Super Kings roped in Moeen Ali at 7 crore. Shivam Dube was sold at 4.4 crore to Rajasthan Royals.
