England fast bowler James Anderson won another award, becoming the first fast bowler to take 600 wickets in Test cricket. All three bowlers before him were spinners.
In the Southampton Test, James Anderson bowled a devastating delivery, and in the first innings, led five Pakistani players to the pavilion.
In the second innings, he took another wicket by taking the wicket of Pakistan captain Azhar Ali. He became the first fast bowler in the world to take 600 wickets in Tests and the fourth bowler in the world to do so overall.
He won the award in the 156th Test. Anderson is the fourth highest wicket-taker.
Sri Lanka’s Murali Dharan tops the list with 800 wickets, followed by Australia’s Shane Warne (708) and India’s Anil Kumble (619).
It is worth mentioning here that these three are spin bowlers.
