Fog forces early starts in T20 Cup

Dhaka fog has troubled the vision in the night. BCB (Bangladesh Cricket Board) has decided to make early startings for the rest of the Bangabandhu T20 Cup.

The first match of the day will start at 12:30 pm (local time) instead of 1:30 pm. The second game will start at 5:30 pm, which was 6:30 pm till Tuesday.

The fog had great impact during Tuesday night’s clash between Gazi Group Chattogram and Gemcon Khulna, which Chattogram eventually won on the last-ball six from the bat of Shamsur Rahman.

Khulna skipper Mahmudullah Riyad, who had dropped a catch in the 19th over, revealed that he was unable to see the ball during the back end of the match.

“[In the] last two-three overs it was really heavy. I couldn’t see the ball. It was a good game. So it’s okay,” Mahmudullah said at the post-match presentation.

The change means Beximco Dhaka vs Gemcon Khulna and Fortune Barishal vs Gazi Group Chattogram matches will start as per new timings on Thursday (December 10).

The league stage will end on December 12 before the play-offs start from December 14. The final will be played on the 18th. The single-match days on December 15 (Qualifier 2) and December 18 will have starts at 4:30 pm.

Earlier, BCB had earlier starts (12 pm and 5 pm) on Friday (December 4) to allow T Sports broadcast Bangladesh football team’s World Cup Qualifier against Qatar in the night. The Friday matches were previously scheduled for 2 pm and 7 pm.
