Bumrah brings up maiden first-class fifty with a six

Indian right-arm fast bowler scored his maiden first-class half-century in the tour game between India and Australia A at SCG.

The most anticipated Test series between India and Australia is just around the corner with less than five days to go. As part of the tour, India are playing tour warm-up games of three days each before the start of the Test series. The first tour game was played from December 6th to December 8th.

The second tour game, which is also a day-night game is being played at Sydney Cricket Ground. India’s skipper Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and elected to bat first. After electing to bat first, Indians didn’t show a good performance with the bat. India were bundled out for 194 runs in the first innings.

For the visitors, Shubman Gill and Prithvi Shaw had good starts but both of them failed to convert them as big scores. Both the batsmen dismissed for 43 and 40 respectively. All the other main batsmen failed to score even two-digit scores except Hanuma Vihari.

For the last wicket, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj had a 71-runs partnership. In the partnership, Jasprit Bumrah scored his maiden half-century in first-class cricket. He remained unbeaten on 55 when India were bowled out for 194. Bumrah’s half-century included 6 fours and 2 sixes.

Both the sixes were coming off the short deliveries and Bumrah was good enough to send them over the rope in the fine-leg region. The second six brought up the half-century for India’s pace gun. The fast bowler will be a crucial factor for the visitors in the four-match Test series.
